Mesh and Visa team up so wallet apps can let users spend crypto balances without a separate card
Summary
Crypto payments firm Mesh announced a partnership with Visa on Monday that will let participating wallet apps offer in-store and online payments directly from users’ crypto, stablecoin or fiat balances wherever Visa is accepted, according to Mesh’s release and The Block.
A Visa credential is provisioned behind the scenes, so the user taps a normal contactless terminal or checks out online without selling, transferring or preloading funds, while Mesh handles funding and conversion and the merchant receives a standard payment.
Mesh said platforms can turn the feature on through a single integration without running their own card program, with Mesh acting as program manager and handling user onboarding and KYC.
No launch date has been set: Mesh said initial availability, supported devices and participating platforms will be announced once rollout details are finalized.
